Zoë Durand
Zoë Durand is the founder of the Inside Family Law Awards, created to recognise the people, ideas and contributions that shape family law beyond the courtroom.
Her vision was to create something that felt different from a traditional awards program. Rather than focusing only on titles, seniority or commercial success, the Inside Family Law Awards recognise the work that often has the greatest impact but receives the least attention: client care, mentoring, social justice, innovation, wellbeing, education, reform, collaboration and contribution to the profession.
The Awards grew from the broader Inside Family Law platform, including its interviews, conversations and professional storytelling. At the centre of Zoë’s vision is a simple idea: the family law profession learns best when its people are given the opportunity to share what they’ve experienced, what they’ve built and what they’ve learned.
For Zoë, the Awards are about creating that platform.
A nomination can bring forward a story that might otherwise go unnoticed. A conversation can connect practitioners who are working on similar problems. An idea developed in one firm, chambers or community can influence the way others practise.
The Inside Family Law Awards are intended to celebrate excellence, but also to strengthen the profession itself by recognising the people who are contributing to it in meaningful and sometimes less visible ways.
Zoë’s vision is for the Awards to become an annual gathering where the family law community can come together, recognise its peers, exchange ideas and celebrate the people behind the work.
